What your yard looks like afterward

Post holes get backfilled and tamped. We're not leaving open holes in a yard where kids and dogs run. Expect some scarring, though. A fence line that's been standing a long while has compacted soil, dead grass, and sometimes a shallow trench running under it. Grass fills back in over a season with normal watering. If the old line ran under a mature tree, roots have probably grown around the footings, and we work around them instead of through them.

Concrete and debris go to a proper disposal site. We don't bury footings in the back corner of the property. That shortcut shows up years later when somebody tries to dig there.
