Freestanding panel fence sits on weighted bases and links panel to panel. It moves as the work moves, which makes it the right call for a phased site where the perimeter shifts week to week, or any surface we are not allowed to punch holes in. A finished parking lot. A sidewalk closure in Franklin or Columbia.

Driven post is slower to install and costs more up front. Posts go in the ground, fabric gets stretched and tied, and the run holds its line. Wind doesn't shove it out of alignment and nobody picks up a section and walks off with it. If the site is going to be open a long time, or somebody has already hit it once, that's what we'd put in. What We Fence

Construction sites, mostly. Once there's equipment sitting out, stockpiled material, and a hole in the ground, the perimeter is what keeps your tools where you left them and everybody else on the other side of it.

Demolition is more about containment than theft. Same with storm damage. When a tree comes through a roof, a hard perimeter around the debris keeps the problem from turning into somebody's injury before the cleanup crew shows up.

We also get called for open excavations on new builds around Spring Hill and Thompson's Station, where a pool hole can sit open a while between trades. Events are the opposite kind of job. Panels go up, they define a footprint for a weekend, they come down Monday.

What Usually Goes Wrong

Layout is the big one. A perimeter drawn on a site plan rarely survives contact with the actual site. The gate ends up somewhere a truck can't turn into it, a spoil pile buries a run, or the fence line sits right on top of where the utility trench is going. We walk it before we quote so the line we set is one you can work inside of.

Then there's the ground. Shallow rock is common around here, and driving posts into it is a different job than driving into clay. Clay has its own habits, swelling and heaving with the weather.

Wind gets underestimated. Panel fence with full windscreen on it is a sail. If the bases aren't weighted for that and the run isn't braced, you'll come back after a storm and find your perimeter lying flat in the mud.

Screening, Gates, and Access

Windscreen and privacy mesh go on when you need dust knocked down, sightlines blocked, or the site to look like somebody's minding it. Screening changes what the wind does to the fence, so we plan the bracing around it rather than bolting it on after.

Gates deserve more thought than they usually get. One walk gate stops being enough the day deliveries start. We size the openings for what's actually coming through the hole, a pickup or a lowboy hauling a track hoe, and we set them where the approach angle works. Swing gates and rolling gates each have their place depending on how much room you've got to swing.

What It Costs

Rental pricing moves with linear footage, panel versus driven post, how long it stays up, whether screening goes on it, and how hard the site is to work in. A flat open lot with truck access is cheaper to fence than a tight footprint where we're hand-carrying panels around existing structures.

Long-term rentals price differently than short ones. Rock is the wildcard on driven post, since it slows the install down, and we'd rather tell you that standing on the site than surprise you on the invoice. Permit and right-of-way rules vary by jurisdiction, so if your perimeter touches a sidewalk or a public street, check with the city or county office first.

How We Handle It

Call us and you're talking to somebody who'll be on your site. We come look at it, mark the line, and tell you what we'd install and why. Delivery, setup, and removal are all part of the rental. If the site changes and the fence needs to move or the run needs to get longer, we come back out and handle it. When you're done we pull it, load it, and leave the ground clean behind us. Common Questions

How long can we keep a temporary fence up?

As long as the job needs it. We do short event work and multi-phase construction rentals that stay up through the whole build. Tell us the timeline you're expecting and we'll set it up so an extension isn't a scramble.

Can we move the fence once it's installed?

Yes. Panel fence is built to be reconfigured, so phased sites move it as the work moves. Driven-post chain link can be relocated too, but that means pulling and resetting posts, so we plan those lines with the full schedule in mind.

Do we need a permit for temporary fencing?

It depends on where the fence sits. Fencing entirely inside your own property line usually isn't the issue. Encroaching on a sidewalk, right-of-way, or public street generally is. Confirm the requirements with the city or county office that covers your address before the fence goes up.

Do you fence storm damage on short notice?
